Westgold is growing, and we’re looking for a motivated Mining Engineer to join our Technical Services team at our Southern Goldfields Operations. Working on an 8:6 roster, you’ll be part of a high‑performing underground mining team focused on safe, efficient, and productive outcomes.

About the Role

Reporting to the Senior Engineer, you will provide essential technical support to our underground operations. Your work will ensure production targets are met, plans are delivered accurately, and best‑practice mining standards are upheld.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Prepare and deliver short-term production schedules, drilling & blasting plans, and stope notes
  • Complete stope reconciliations and QA/QC activities
  • Manage and maintain engineering databases (Plodtrack, Livemine)
  • Assist with vent modelling, surveys, and regulatory compliance requirements
  • Contribute to weekly 13‑week schedules and review contractor performance
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across the operation
  • Mentor Junior Engineers and work closely with production and technical teams
  • Participate actively in safety programs, incident reporting, hazard ID and workplace inspections

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor of Engineering (Mining)
  • Underground time completed and 3+ years’ experience in UG hard‑rock mining
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office and mining software (Deswik CAD/UGDB)
  • Good communication, teamwork, and problem‑solving abilities
  • WA C‑Class licence and National Police Clearance
  • A proactive, safety‑focused attitude and commitment to high‑quality work
